From 31 March, the lodge will become On the Point – Lake Rotorua when it leaves the Accor Portfolio.

General Manager, Ann Gregor-Greene, says the move allows On the Point – Lake Rotorua to further focus on the lodge’s unique point of difference in the Rotorua luxury accommodation sector.

“We are extremely excited about the developments that 2023 will bring for us, our trade partners, and our guests,” she says.

“The move back to being an independent brand allows us to fully celebrate our unique heritage and our point of difference in the market for discerning guests,” she says.

The lakeside lodge is steeped in rich heritage, with the original homestead built in 1903.  It has been  in the Main Family since 1977 and opened as a lodge in 2004.

An easy 2.5-hour drive south of Auckland’s CBD, and just five minutes from the heart of Rotorua (20 minutes from the airport), On the Point – Lake Rotorua attracts guests from around the globe and across Aotearoa New Zealand.

“Our beautiful 5 star Rotorua accommodation offers a luxury experience that is second-to-none, with all suites and villas offering breath-taking views of Lake Rotorua,” says Ann.

“Our hospitality is what sets us apart. We know how to deliver exceptional service and fine dining, and our team take the time to really get to know our individual guests, their needs, and special wishes, providing an experience like no other.”

Its prime waterfront location, rolling lawns and timeless elegance have seen On the Point – Lake Rotorua become a popular boutique wedding venue. The team has also built a reputation for mouth-watering dining, utilising the freshest locally sourced seasonal produce.
